Updated Beachfront Paradise, Infinity Pool Roatan

Torn and missing door screens, broken outdoor table, mold in sinks & showers, broken kitchen cabinet, fraying linens, rotting deck railings, coffee pot lid broken, bedrm rug is trip hazard due to curled corners, safe not attached to wall, broken concrete pool deck, poorly equipped kitchen doesn't even have a single spatula(!) and what few tools are there are cheap and dull, handles falling off frying pans. House is big and has potential, but suffering from deferred maintenance. PROS: Palmetto Bay has helpful staff, very nice landscaping, and is well guarded 24/7. The Cove restaurant is good and the nearby Brew pub good for lunch (tho be aware of cruise ship days); the dive center convenient and reasonably priced; house has very attractive furniture. Diving the reef is fantastic. COMMENTS: The wonderful white sand beach at the western end is lined w/ hotels which block beach access; snorkeling there good but beach is mobbed; best way to get there is water taxi from Sandy Bay. Other beaches are just OK, mostly pebbly and full of sea grasses and no shortage of sand fleas & mosquitoes so use repellent liberally.

This place was absolutely amazing; from the time we arrived until the day we left 7 days later was incredible. Our Concierge Carolina was there every step of the way, from booking reservations to keeping us informed on Island wide power outages. Bring Oil Based Bug Spray, the Sand Flies will eat you alive. Should be expected you are on a tropical island in the Carribean. The Pool was cleaned at least every other day if not every day. The house was way better than the pictures, they do not do it justice. All the rooms have split units, you need to turn off when you leave the house, but don't worry they work great in cooling everything back down upon your return. If I could give 10 stars i would. Dive Shop is right there, Amanda, Sam, Eric and Carlos great dive experience. Best money I have ever spent on a vacation home.
